Our Mission
We are a purpose-driven company that believes passionately in the power of education to change perspectives, lives, and, ultimately, the world. Our mission is to provide in-person and online homework help + language learning to students in all countries. Schoolbird’s smartphone application utilizes local teachers and tutors to support students in their neighborhood, across the country, or continents. Our hope is that our platform will empower our students and educators to pursue their dreams while mitigating the barriers that exist in education, such as cost, accessibility, and geographic location.
The Schoolbird Team
The team consists of members with distinct life experiences and backgrounds, united by one vision: Help kids become smarter with the Schoolbird App. With our app, students can get affordable homework help every day, learn English at any level, and apply to select American colleges and universities. Schoolbird’s homework helpers – university students, and English teachers are the backbone of our App. They are creative, hardworking, and love to share their knowledge.

Raised by Vietnamese and American parents, Jim adopted multicultural and bilingual traits early. He is passionate about teaching the secrets of learning English and bringing the American college experience to students worldwide.
Ron Le
CTO
A brusque talker-coder from Florida. He wants to build a world where every kid has a homework buddy. When he is not working, he enjoys cháo vịt and sharing lotto tickets.
Alex Héritier
Director of Technology
Born and raised in the heart of Silicon Valley, coded his way through college. Alex spends his days working out of his favorite Vietnamese restaurants. When not at work, he cruises mountain roads in his classic red Mercedes.
Amanda Samoyloff
Head of Business Development
Amanda is the CEO of Samoyloff PR and has 10+ years of global communications, business development, and project management experience. In her free time, she's either exploring a new hiking trail or pen deep, brandishing the pages of her journal with her latest poem.
Mizuho Takahashi
Creative Director
San Francisco-based UI/UX Designer joined Schoolbird in 2021. Tokyo-born Mizuho practiced her trade at tech startups, non-profit and small businesses. Behind her smile, she is a rebellious and meticulous design ninja.
Wenyi Yang
Curriculum Director
Wenyi Yang completed her M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other languages (TESOL) at San Francisco State University in 2020. Her professional interest is to travel all over the world and inspires an innovative, student-centered, and engaging learning environment for children and adults of today and the future!
