Pre-Application

To make sure that you qualify, see that you meet the
below REQUIREMENTS before applying.

Speak English at a Native Level

While it’s not required to have previous teaching experience to teach English in Vietnam, you will need to be able to speak English at a native level. To gain employment and to get a work visa to teach English legally in Vietnam, it is beneficial to have a TESOL/TEFL or CELTA Certificate.

Bachelor’s Degree

We accept candidates who hold a BA/BFA/BS in any field from an accredited college. The degree does not have to be an English or teaching degree. It only matters that you can supply notarized academic transcripts from your college. The degree will need to be stamped by a notary, then sent for authentication at the Foreign Affairs Office in your home country, and then either sent to the Vietnamese Embassy in your home country or your Embassy in Vietnam. We also have limited placements for non-degree teachers.

TESOL/TEFL or CELTA Certificate

A certificate in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) is usually desired or required. These can generally be obtained through online programs. There is no actual requirement for the TEFL set by the Labor Department in Vietnam. However, there is a catch. The easiest way to get a work permit in Vietnam is to get a job with a reputable language center who will process the work permit for you. You'll need to have a 120 hour TEFL certificate, completed in class, with at least six hours of observed teaching in practice, to get a job with a prominent language center. A 120 hour online TEFL course is accepted, but we recommend taking the class in-person to attain a better teaching placement.

Age Requirement

Must be 18 or older (Male or Female)
